Website design for UK SMEs

SEO- & GEO-rich sites built to generate enquiries, not just traffic

Most business websites don't have a design problem. They have a strategy problem — pages that describe what you do without giving anyone a reason to get in touch. A well-built site starts with understanding the decision your visitor needs to make — and ensuring it's easy for them to make it.

When you need it

You might recognise one of these:

  • Your site gets traffic but not enquiries.

  • You're relaunching and need the website to match the new brand and messaging strategy.

  • You're launching and need a professional presence that builds credibility fast.

  • Your current site describes what you do, but doesn't convince anyone to act.

  • You've grown, and the site is stuck in an earlier version of the business.

How I approach it

Every site starts with the same question: what does someone need to know at each stage of their decision, and in what order? From there, I develop the site structure, write the copy, and design and build the site — primarily on Wix and Wix Studio. Everything is done in-house; no handoffs to overseas teams.

What's involved

  • Site strategy and structure — built around how your visitors make decisions.

  • Copywriting for all pages.

  • Design and build on Wix/Wix Studio.

  • SEO and GEO foundations (Search Engine Optimisation and Generative Engine Optimisation), including on-page, meta, and structure and Schema.

  • Analytics setup.

Engagement and timescales

Most sites take 8–12 weeks from brief to launch, depending on scope and complexity. Smaller sites — typically for startups — can be completed in as little as four weeks. We agree on the scope before making any commitment, so you know what to expect before we start.

Pricing: Projects typically start from £2,500. The final cost depends on the size of the site, the complexity of the content, and any specific functionality required. We agree the scope — and the cost — before anything begins.

What you get

  • A complete website: strategy, copy, design and build, ready to launch.

  • A site built around your visitors' decision-making journey, not just your service list.

  • SEO foundations in place from day one.

  • Analytics configured so you can measure what's working.

  • A site you can manage and update yourself — no developer dependency.

Websites built for AI search and SEO

Search has fundamentally changed. Google's AI overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity don't rank pages by counting keywords — they evaluate whether a site genuinely demonstrates expertise and answers real questions.

Expertise over optimisation tricks. AI models are trained to identify thin content, recycled copy, and keyword stuffing. What gets surfaced and cited is substantive, specific knowledge — the kind that proves you actually understand your clients' problems, not just the words they search for.

Content that answers real questions. Generative search synthesises answers from multiple sources. If your site addresses the questions your audience is genuinely asking — in depth, clearly, and credibly — you become the source it draws from. That's why every site I build includes well-structured service pages, case studies with real outcomes, and FAQ content built around actual client concerns.

Clear positioning that AI can understand. If it's not obvious what you do, who you do it for, and why you're the right choice, AI models will struggle to surface you for the right queries. Strong brand positioning isn't just a marketing nicety — it's a discoverability signal.

The fundamentals that make a site work for AI-powered search are the same ones that make it work for humans: clarity, substance, and demonstrated expertise. That's what I build towards.
